How did I miss the last half of March?! Looking back over the past couple of weeks, we have been very busy, but now I can't remember what we were doing to update the blog!
There have been several trips to Albany. Wayne is 2 years out from his cancer surgery and remains cancer free! Praise God!!
Marc sold one of his goats last week. Twilight was the first goat Marc purchased and was very dear to his heart, but as she got older, she got meaner. Twilight would pick on the other goats even though she was the smallest goat in the pen. One of our best milkers sustained an injury which our vet believes was probably caused by being rammed. When Marc heard that, he knew the time had come for the farmer side of him to make the difficult decision to cull Twilight from the herd. She went to auction on Wednesday and the goat girls are now living peaceably in their pen.
I have been busy spinning and building up inventory for the shop. An open house is planned for April 30th so for the next few weeks there will be little time for boredom.
Yesterday we were blessed with the use of our friend's tractor. The barns were thoroughly cleaned from the winter build-up and several projects were tackled and completed. We were all exhausted last night, but the farm looks much neater and it's wonderful to be outside enjoying spring.
Yes, Spring has officially arrived today with the return of our neighbor from Florida. I tell her that it's not really Spring until she comes home. It's great to have her back!
